The "Chicago Bungalow" is designed to fit on a small lot. Well built, this house is found not only in Chicago, but in many of the collar communities close to the city. Usually with two bedrooms and one bath, this house is a great "starter" for many families but becomes too small once the kids start growing. As with this house, the natural first step is to add a second floor over the first to increase the number of bedrooms.

My client purchased this house which had already had 3 Bedrooms and 2 bathrooms added to the second floor, but still lacked a comfortable working Kitchen and "Gathering" space to suit their family's needs. A small addition to the back of the house with a larger Kitchen, Pantry, and Breakfast Area gave the owners the quality space they were looking for.
