Roche - Two Story This Early American Colonial residence had all the typical "issues" my clients want me to fix. There was no 4-season Family Room space adequate for three growing boys, and only three bedrooms on the second floor. The garage was beginning to lean and was too small to fit a minivan, let alone the kid's bikes, lawn mower, and yard furniture. However, the most important requirement, as with most of my clients, was to create a solution that didn't look just "tacked on" to the original. By "borrowing" familiar elements and details from the original structure combined with offsetting and varying 1&2 story components, the result is an attractive addition that compliments the original and gives a "human scale" to the rear façade which is essential to achieving a pleasant "feel" to the outside patio living space. |
